Dr. Dionne Harrell is a Milwaukee native, and a 1998 graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Harrell was an associate veterinarian at Norwood from 1998-2005, working side by side with Dr. Grebe and Dr. Bach in the early years of her career. She left Norwood in 2005 to start a solo house call practice. We are happy to have Dr. Harrell back at Norwood... it's like "being home" she's stated.
Dr. Harrell has a strong interest in client education, feline medicine, and wants to pursue education into acupuncture and spinal manipulation for canines and felines.
In her free time Dr. Harrell loves to do various outdoor activities: biking, hiking, running, dancing, and time in the gym. Dr. Harrell has a true love for live music and attends as many concerts throughout the year as possible. Dr. Steffen is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and a Milwaukee-area native. After graduation, she completed advanced training with an internship at VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT. During her internship she discovered a love of emergency medicine, and continued in that field in both Chicago, IL, and after returning to the Milwaukee area. While emergency medicine is still a strong interest for her, the ability to establish long-term relationships with clients and follow her patients from puppy/kitten-hood all the way through their senior years drew her away to general practice. She enjoys all aspects of internal medicine and has a strong interest in pain management.
Dr. Steffen enjoys spending her downtime exploring the ever-changing city, as well as spending time outdoors gardening or just relaxing. A self-proclaimed cat-lady she currently resides with 2 spoiled felines (Lilly and Bruce) and a very naughty English Bulldog (Bucky).
